Different Right Angle Shelf Bracket Designs

Steel Shelf Brackets

Right On Bracket sells 3 different types of standard right angle shelf brackets. This includes an angle shelf bracket, hook or J shelf bracket, and a lip shelf bracket. They all support a medium weight capacity for standard household shelves. All are made with strong hot-rolled steel with buffed edges and a powder coated finish.

All shelf brackets have a countersunk shelf mounting hole on the bottom of the bracket. This gives you the option to put a small 1″ screw into the bottom of the shelf, which mounts the shelf securely to the bracket. This isn’t required, but recommended in high traffic areas and if your constantly pulling items off a shelf.

Traditional Angle Shelf Bracket

Our Angle Shelf Bracket is a classic. This 90 degree bracket is perfect for shelves in several settings. Since there’s no lip on the edge of the bracket, it can fit a variety of shelf sizes. You can go to the very end of the shelf as seen below, or you can have it a little shorter than the depth of the wood shelf. With the shelf mounting hole, this bracket is versatile and can fit and shelf close to the same depth as the bracket!

Hook Shelf Bracket

Our J Bracket or Hook Shelf Bracket is just like it sounds. The bracket is in the shape of an L with a lip at the end like a hook. When these brackets are secured to the wall, a shelf can fit between the lip and mounting side of the bracket. We make the distance a tad longer than advertised, so a shelf that matches the same length can always fit.

We recommend buying and measuring your shelves first before you order these brackets. You want to make sure the shelf depth matches the length of this bracket. If it’s not matched, either the shelf wont fit or there will be too much space between the bracket and the wood shelf.

Lip Shelf Bracket

Our Lip Shelf Bracket is one of our most popular shelving brackets. This bracket creates a modern yet classic rustic look our customers have loved!

This bracket is just like our J Shelf Bracket or Hook Shelf Bracket, but the mounting side is below the shelf. Both the height and length of the shelf bracket comes in a variety of sizes to fit your remodeling project perfectly. This bracket looks great in any home from the kitchen to the laundry room. Plenty of strength and perfect for nearly any application!
