Granite Brackets - Countertop Brackets

“Granite Brackets” Are Countertop Brackets

“Granite Brackets” are what the industry has adopted at the name for “Countertop Brackets”. A granite coutnertop is one of the most common countertop materials out there and some people might not be able to tell the difference! Don’t worry about the material of your countertop, as all countertop materials are heavy and the weights are similar. All our granite countertop brackets will hold your next project, no matter what your countertop material is!

Granite Bracket Thickness

At Right On Bracket, we have a variety of different countertop bracket designs. The one thing they all share in common, are they’re nearly completely or semi-hidden to the naked eye. They brackets are under a floating countertop, so the ascetic isn’t too important.

Since these brackets are mostly hidden, we highly recommend using 3/8″ or 1/2″ thicknesses, which are our two thicker models. We also sell 3/16″ and 1/4″ thickness, as some applications require a thinner bracket. If is under 10″ or the granite countertop isn’t very thick, you can get away with a thinner bracket. However, the average countertop is heavy and has a decent sized overhang. This is why we recommend a thicker bracket for remodeling granite countertops.

Granite Bracket Width

Right On Bracket only supplies brackets that are 2.5″ wide. This is industry standard among most suppliers. We find this width gives the perfect amount of strength for any countertop. It’s also very manageable to install in most applications and will hardly get in the way when your countertop is being used.

Granite Bracket Finish

When you use a granite countertop overhang, any bracket will be underneith the overhang giving the countertop support. Legs, arms, and clothes will all brush against the brackets here and there. It’s important the bracket won’t cut or hurt anything that touches it.

All Right On Bracket granite countertop brackets have ground/buffed edges and are powder coated. This combination makes the brackets smooth and have rounded edges. When installed, they’re safe to be rubbed against and won’t damage when touched.

On the end of each granite support bracket, we also have a 45 degree beveled edge. If you rub your hand down the bottom of the granite countertop onto the support bracket, your hand will naturally ramp up the bracket. We do this instead of having a 90 degree blunt edge, as this is dangerous under a countertop. You can painfully hit your knees and legs hard on a blunt edge.

Countersunk Holes in Granite Brackets

4 of our granite countertop brackets have/need countersunk holes. This is needed because when the brackets are installed and the countertop is laid on top, it needs to be flush and perfectly flat. Any beds or imperfections can risk a countertop from failing, leading to cracks or breaks.

The granite brackets with beveled holes are our top mount brackets, back mount brackets, right angle brackets, and knee wall brackets. We recommend using 12″ wood screws to install these, as they will fit perfectly into the 1/4″ hole we drill in the granite bracket.
