Iron Supports vs. Steel Brackets

Whether it’s a granite countertop or a simple wooden shelf, it’s important to have strong metal bracket so support your next project. Depending on your design, you might need heavy duty brackets capable of supporting hundreds of pounds or a simple lightweight bracket to support a decorative wooden shelf. No matter what your next project entails, Right On Bracket has you covered!

Iron vs. Steel

Right On Bracket exclusively sells steel brackets. Steel is a superior metal vs. steel for supporting a stone of shelf. This is because steel is stronger than iron and won’t bend nearly as easy. This more durable material is superior vs. an iron bracket from a strength perspective. Both types of metal will rust, which is a drawback vs. a stainless steel. A stainless steel is stronger than regular steel, however it’s also more expensive. Due to this, we powder coat all our brackets to protect them from the elements and keep the cost of our products down for our customers.

Due to strength and price, hot rolled steel is the superior material to use for the majority of projects that require metal supports.

Metal Brackets

Right On Bracket provides several countertop brackets, shelving brackets, and specialty products for home improvement projects. Here are the main categories of metal brackets we provide:

Countertop Brackets

When you have an overhanging stone countertop, you’ll likely need a countertop support bracket to ensure this piece of stone doesn’t bend or worse…break. We recommend a series of brackets separated every 16″ – 36″ depending on the project. Especially the corners of your countertop, as this is the most likely part of the countertop to break. We have several designs available to support nearly any project!

Shelf Brackets

Shelf brackets come in several designs and application. This ranges from floating shelf brackets, heavy duty shelf brackets, and simple right angle shelf brackets. All of these designs serve different applications, as well as the design you’re looking for. A modern design has floating brackets, but a more classic design will have a nicely made angle bracket. All products have different thicknesses and sizes available to deliver a product perfect for your next project!

Specialty Brackets

Right On Bracket also provides specialty products not sold anywhere else! This includes shipping container shelving systems, RAM brackets, and mantel brackets. All of these products came from our crafty employees or our creative customers. All handmade in our shop with high quality materials!
