L Countertop Bracket – Countertop Overhang Support Bracket
Our L brackets are the perfect blend of strength, style, and convenience, and they’ll support any countertop with unmatched stability. These brackets, which feature a hidden supporting tail, create an extremely strong overhanging support for your new stone countertop!
Manufactured in the USA with high-quality American steel, our countertop brackets effortlessly bear heavy weights, ensuring your countertop remains sturdy and secure. They are easy to install and are hidden from view, so your new countertop overhang has a “floating” appearance.
L support brackets can be used your bathroom, granite bar, or anywhere you need reliable support of stone counters. We recommend using this bracket or similar models to support any stone overhang to prevent stone bending or cracking.
Our L brackets come in a variety of different thicknesses and lengths, depending on the application. All bracket variations have seven countersunk mounting holes for a secure mount to a half wall. This granite bracket has the top-notch quality and support to last a lifetime!
Product Specifications:
- Available in thicknesses of: 1/4″, 3/8″ & 1/2″.
- Available in lengths of: 10″, 12″, 15″, 20″ & 24″.
- All Brackets are 2 1/2″ wide.
- All Back Mount Brackets have a 3.75″ tail for mounting support.

- 45 degree beveled & smooth front edge.
- 4 mounting holes on the top of the bracket and 3 mounting holes on the tail. All mounting holes are 1/4″ and countersunk.
- Bracket is buffed to give smooth edges and eliminate any burrs.
Powder coated black to prevent against corrosion and rust.
Weight Capacity:
- Make sure high quality mounting hardware is used to secure bracket.
- Specific max load/weight capacities per bracket are detailed in the diagram.
- Examples:
- One 12″ long 3/8″ thick bracket has a weight capacity of 345 lbs.
- Two 20″ long 1/2″ thick brackets have a weight capacity of 700lbs.
Installation Tips:
- Mountain Hardware Not Included.
- Recommending #12 tapered wood screws 1.5″ – 2″ long.
- Drill pilot holes to avoid cracking your mounting surface.
- Notch out a spot on your half wall the depth of the bracket. A router or oscillating tool is recommended. This will result in the half wall and bracket to have a perfect transition, so the countertop may lay on a smooth service.
- This bracket must be installed before your stone or wood countertop is installed. The countertop overhang will lay on top on the support bracket.
- If you’re using this bracket to support stone, we recommend Liquid Nails to mount the bracket to the stone.
- If you can only mount a bracket to the top of your half wall, use our Top Mount Support Brackets
Bracket Size Recommendations:
- 3/8″ thick brackets are our most popular. Will be plenty strong for most countertop overhangs. Used for both commercial and residential applications.
- 1/2 thick brackets are designed for long stone overhangs and commercial applications. If anyone is going to sit/lead on countertop or a large amount of weight is anticipated, we recommend this thickness.
- The bracket length should be 1″ – 3″ shorter than the overhang.
